St. Augustine’s home-delivered meals program provides home-delivered lunches to senior citizens 60 and older, who are unable to leave their homes and find it hard to prepare nutritious meals.
Last year more than 49,000 meals were provided for older adults through our congregate and home-delivered meals programs in the Detroit-Shoreway and Broadway/Slavic Village neighborhoods.
Daily home-delivered lunches are provided in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. These meals are prepared with the dietary needs of seniors in mind. All meals are certified by a registered dietitian to meet one-third of the RDA. See sample menus: November Menu, December Menu
It is important for seniors to receive the proper nutrition in order to remain healthy and live independently in their homes as long as they wish. Meals are delivered to their door, Monday – Friday. There is no charge, however we gladly accept donations. The recommended donation is $.75 per meal.
