It started with one letter, and one big heart.
When Diane, a resident at St. Augustine Health Campus, received a letter from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank about their Thanksgiving campaign, she didn’t hesitate to bring it to her weekly Ladies Circle meeting — a group of residents who gather to share gratitude, reflection, and conversation.
Diane shared the letter and asked if the group would be interested in raising funds to help families in need. The response was immediate: yes.
With encouragement and organization from Joyce, Activities Assistant and Ladies Circle leader, the women began collecting donations throughout October to support families in need. With help from other residents, the Ladies Circle raised $185, which was then generously matched by our Staff Education and Recreation Council (SERC) — doubling the impact of their efforts. Each dollar raised helps provide two meals to families in need this Thanksgiving.
We’re so grateful — we have food on our plates and we’re thankful for that. We wanted to help provide for others.
– Diane, Resident and Member of Ladies Circle
What began as one resident’s idea became a campus-wide act of generosity — a reminder that the spirit of giving is alive and well at St. Augustine Health Campus, where kindness has a way of multiplying.
