St. Augustine Health Campus Honors Volunteers at Annual Recognition Ceremony
Crystal Medley named 2024 Volunteer of the Year for extraordinary dedication and service
CLEVELAND, OH – St. Augustine Health Campus (SAHC) hosted its annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, April 26, 2025, honoring over 100 volunteers for their service throughout 2024. The event celebrated the remarkable impact of those who generously give their time to enrich the lives of residents and support the campus community.
Over 50 volunteers were recognized for both years of service and lifetime hours contributed, with individual milestones ranging from 100 to over 20,000 hours.
The ceremony’s highlight was the presentation of the Volunteer of the Year Award, a tradition since SAHC’s volunteer program began in 1970. This year’s honoree, Crystal Medley of Cleveland, has volunteered with St. Augustine for the past eight years, contributing over 2,097 hours of service.
Crystal’s devotion is evident in the way she prioritizes volunteering—often using her days off from work and vacation time to serve. Her contributions span a wide range of roles, including mail delivery, laundry assistance, clerical support, and most notably, forming meaningful friendships with residents. She is beloved by both staff and residents for her consistent presence and warm demeanor.
The ceremony also recognized volunteers celebrating milestone anniversaries, including Jean Campana (20 years), Andy Smoley (10 years), Bob Snock (10 years), Rick Basista (5 years), Ingrid Nolan (5 years), Jack Lekan (5 years).
