Decades of Dedication: Honoring our Outstanding Employees

This year’s Employee Recognition Dinner at St. Augustine Health Campus was a celebration of over 50 employees and their incredible dedication to our organization. The evening kicked off with a delicious meal provided by our talented nutrition services staff, followed by an awards ceremony recognizing a range of service milestones and contributions.

Among the honorees, Joan Decosta of St. Augustine Health Campus, and Paul Mihacevich of Holy Family, were celebrated for an impressive 45 years of service. Timothy Herman was recognized for his 40 years of dedication at Holy Family. Additionally, seventeen employees were honored for their long-standing commitment, with 15+ years of service across the Health Campus, Towers Assisted Living, and Holy Family.

The evening highlighted the retirement of six employees, whose years of hard work and compassion have helped shape the culture of care within our organization.

Four employees were chosen by their peers to receive “The Health Ministries Way” Employee of the Year Awards.  The Health Ministries Way identifies members of the staff who go above and beyond what’s required in their job to exemplify the mission, vision, values and exemplary customer services that make St. Augustine Health Ministries the best place to work and receive care.

  • Peaches Thompson was named Nursing Employee of the Year
  • Linda Oleska received the Employee of the Year award for the Health Campus
  • Michael Byrd was recognized as Employee of the Year for the Towers Assisted Living
  • Nenad Stojkovic earned Employee of the Year at Holy Family

In reflecting on the event, Rick Meserini, President and CEO shared: “Having compassionate employees in every aspect of service delivery is a profound blessing in our organization. It fosters a culture of care, respect, and dedication. Our employees go beyond their job descriptions, driven by a genuine connection to the organization’s mission and the people they serve. Their empathy not only enhances the quality of care but also transfers to their care and support for each other.”

This recognition event demonstrates our immense appreciation for the hard work and commitment of our staff. Their dedication is the foundation of the high-quality care we provide, ensuring the well-being of our residents every day.
