[Parma,OH] – We are pleased to announce that Holy Family Hospice has been awarded a 5-star rating from Medicare making us, currently, the only 5-star rated hospice in the Greater Cleveland area.
“This recognition demonstrates that our compassionate patient-centered care, attentiveness in listening to the needs of patients and their families, and our focus on the comfort of the patients is recognized by the families,” Holy Family Home Health Care & Hospice Director Kristin Graham, said of the recognition.
As of March 2023, 7-percent of hospices in the state of Ohio and one out of 53 in the Cleveland area were awarded five stars. The rating is scored through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Hospice Survey (CAHPS).
The CAHPS Hospice Survey focuses on a variety of categories, including communication with family, getting timely help, treating patients with respect, emotional and spiritual support, help for pain and symptoms, training family to care for the patient, rating of the hospice and willingness to recommend our hospice.
Care Compare on Medicare.gov is the official CMS website for publicly reporting quality measures for care provided by hospice and other health care providers. This site was created to help consumers compare hospice providers’ performance and assist consumers.
“We have a highly talented, mission-driven team that always strives to provide the highest quality end-of-life care, and our star rating reflects their hard work and dedication. To have Medicare validate our efforts with a 5-star rating based on the experiences of our families is an honor,” Graham added.
