Pay Range- $13.00-18.89
The Activities Assistant is directly responsible for transporting, preparing, and providing the daily recreation programs under the direct supervision of the Community Life Director. The days and hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 9:30am-6pm.
Works with residents individually and in groups.
Works cooperatively with the Community Life Director in devising the activity schedules.
Contributes ideas and consults with the Community Life Director on developing new programs.
Prepares materials and supplies needed for recreation programs each day.
Leads resident activity programs and other programs, as needed.
Assists with special events and outings, as needed.
Assists in transporting residents to and from daily activity programs and other transporting as may be necessary.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Must have computer literacy skills and ability to use Microsoft products.
Must work cooperatively with other staff and function as part of the therapeutic team.
Must have initiative and the ability to motivate.
Must be able to work on a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
Is able to work independently, when necessary, after being given verbal or written instructions.
A valid driver’s license is required to drive the activities bus.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Must be energetic, personable and possess the ability to motivate others.
Activity Professional Certification (NCCAP) is preferred.
