Towers Assisted Living Ranked Among Top Facilities by Families and Residents

In the latest 2022-2023 Resident and Family Satisfaction Surveys, the Towers Assisted Living Facility has been ranked among the top in the state.

Ohio’s Residential Care Satisfaction Survey asked residents and family members of assisted living facilities about their satisfaction with over 60 aspects of the facility’s services.  The survey was conducted by the Scripps Gerontology Center of Miami University, under contract with the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA).  In alternate years, ODA conducts interviews of families and residents.  The satisfaction questionnaires were developed by impartial researchers and tested to ensure their validity. 

The survey asks residents and family members about their satisfaction with the facility’s activities, administration, environment, laundry, meals and dining, direct care and other factors that affect the lives of their family members.  The ratings are based on two key questions: “Overall, do you like this facility?” and “Would you recommend this facility to a family member or friend?”

In the ODA Family Satisfaction Survey, the Towers ranked in the top 2 percent of all Ohio assisted living facilities.  With a score of 90.2, St. Augustine Towers placed 16^th statewide and #3 in the Greater Cleveland Area, among 593 participating facilities.  (Statewide average score is 76.9.)

In the Resident Satisfaction Survey, residents gave a score of 97 to the top three questions: “Overall, do you like living here?” “Would you recommend this place to a family member or friend?” “Do you feel safe here?” 

“These are the three most telling questions for us,” said Julia Liechty, Administrator of Senior Living.  “We are proud to live our Mission in the city where we are accessible to all.  Regular communication and satisfaction surveys tell us what’s working well and if any areas need improvement.  Only a small percentage of assisted living facilities in the state achieve what St. Augustine does in service to their residents and the community.”
