Holy Family Hospice holds a profound and compassionate history, deeply rooted in the remarkable life of Rose Hawthorne, a woman who devoted her life to serving the poor and terminally ill. In 1900, Rose established the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, a congregation committed to providing end of life care for those suffering from incurable cancer. Rose and her fellow nuns selflessly dedicated their time to give solace to the less fortunate, sick, and suffering. With the opening of Holy Family in 1956, the sacred ministry has been a shining beacon of hope and comfort, extending exceptional care and unwavering support to patients and their families during their most challenging times. Holy Family takes pride in being dedicated to honoring the visionary spirit of Rose Hawthorne and continuing the same morals, values, and traditions from before hospice was even coined a term.
