There have been many events and yearly traditions at St. Augustine Health Ministries that have either been cancelled or had to be “reimagined” this year due to COVID. One of these reimagined events was our annual Employee Recognition Dinner. This yearly tradition celebrates employees who have retired or who have celebrated milestone anniversaries in the last year are recognized.
Normally, the event includes a dinner on the Health Campus held in our Commons. Employees come with a guest, sit at large tables and enjoy their meals in the company of their fellow co-workers. However, this year our staff had to get creative and come up with a way to recognize these employees in a safe, socially-distant way.
Holy Family Home Health & Hospice and the St. Augustine Health Campus each held “dine and dash” events. Employees stopped in to their respective workplaces and picked up a boxed dinner for two from The Berea Depot, along with their certificate of recognition. Employees were also recognized on colorful flowers painted by residents and staff. Thesewere displayed in flower pots in Holy Family’s lobby and “the link” at the Health Campus’s skilled nursing facility.
Our Employee Recognition Dinner never fails to shine light on the longevity of our employees’ careers with St. Augustine. In fact, among the 64 employees recognized were 7 retirees who had a combined total of 98 years of service! Additionaly, 19 employees celebrated 10-year anniversaries; 7 celebrated 15 years; 6 celebrated 20 years; 1 employee celebrated 35-years and another celebrated 40 years!
Our new Employees of the Year for Holy Family, Towers Assisted Living and our skilled nursing facility were also named. Those employees were:
