Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Supervisor to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our assisted living facility. The Activities Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational therapy programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and families as well as the ability to drive the bus/van for community outings.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Coordinate event planning for social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
Assist in managing schedules for activities to ensure optimal participation.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote engagement and participation in activities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as necessary to meet resident needs.
Collaborate with nursing staff to integrate activities into overall care plans for residents.
Maintain records of attendance and feedback on activities for reporting purposes.
Foster a positive environment that encourages social interaction among residents.
Must be willing to work in any department at any time when the need arises and have a thorough working knowledge of each department.
Will be in the management rotation of on call and must be able to staff all departments, take emergency on call for any need arising during that time frame.
Must be able to keep accurate records and stay within the outlined yearly budget.
Interview all new residents and determine what social, recreational, and leisure activities they are interested in.
Publish a monthly bulletin with the lists of all activities that are being held in the surrounding community and how they can attend.
Qualifications
Background in recreational therapy, social work, or related fields preferred.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on schedule management.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
Experience in event planning and coordinating group activities.
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the lives of residents through meaningful engagement.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Ability to drive bus/van throughout the year.
