St. Augustine Health Campus, a not-for-profit long-term care facility, will be taking residents for our annual Camping Trip at Camp Cheerful in Strongsville Aug. 14th -18th. Yes, we said CAMPING (in cabins)! Approx. 30 residents will go for the week while another 25-50 will attend “Day Camp” each day from 10a.m. – 8 p.m.
This event allows residents, some who have lived in the nursing home for the past 10-15 years, the opportunity to “get away” and enjoy life like they used to. They can fish, swim, interact with horses, and roast marshmallows around a campfire. Others like to sit outside under a tree and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of nature. The majority of these residents are on Medicaid to due to age, illness or disability. Although the camping week costs St. Augustine over $18,000, we do not charge any of the residents or families. Why do we do it? Because it’s the right thing to do as part of our mission to promote quality of life. We are the only long-term care facility in the State to provide this type of opportunity.
This is why we are asking for your support this year. Volunteers, monetary and in-kind donations are crucial.
Please consider a donation of a gift card and/or an in-kind donation to help us with the food and supplies that are needed for the Resident Camping Trip.
Your support will be recognized with your name /logo on our social media.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 216-939-7602 or email info@st-aug.org.
Thank you for your consideration. Your support will bring life and love to those who often feel forgotten or inadequate due to age, illness or disability.
