St. Augustine rated Deficiency-free for 3rd Consecutive Year

for the Third Consecutive Year
(and the past six out of seven)!

Dec., 2012-Among nursing home ratings in Ohio, a confirmation of quality is to receive a deficiency-free survey from the Ohio Department of Health.  Employees from St. Augustine Health Campus are pleased to announce the achievement of their third consecutive & six out of the past seven, deficiency-free surveys ~ an accomplishment held by less than 1% of facilities nationwide.

The Ohio Department of Health conducts unannounced on-site inspections annually to all 900+ long-term facilities in the State. Recently, a team of surveyors spent three days at the Manor, which cares for 248 medically complex, chronically ill and aging individuals. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that facility is in compliance with more than 372 State and Federal Regulations, including safety, quality of care, patient rights, food service, and administration and nursing care.  The survey team reviewed documentation; observed care and services provided; conducted interviews with residents, families, staff and more.

“With increasingly stringent regulations and decreased funding, achieving the deficiency-free rating is more difficult. To receive three consecutive deficiency free ratings is really a reflection of the work that is done every day of the year by St. Augustine’s dedicated staff,” said Andrew Koha, President and CEO. “Less than 1% of homes achieve three consecutive deficiency-free ratings.”

“What truly sets St. Augustine apart is that the employees aren’t only there to perform their jobs, they are a staff comprised of compassionate people, eager to make a difference. They are a staff that values human life.” said Dana Carns, Development Director.
