Marketing and Communications Manager - St. Augustine Health Ministries

Job Description

St. Augustine Health Ministries is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative individual to help advance the programs and services of St. Augustine Health Ministries by building brand and community awareness. The Marketing and Communications Manager will report directly to the Advancement Director. This individual will work in collaboration with program directors and administrative staff to develop marketing strategies for program lead generation, volunteer and employee recruitment and donor engagement. St. Augustine Health Ministries provides health care, housing and community services to the chronically ill and aging of our community.

A successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of nonprofit healthcare marketing and communications and the ability to function in many roles.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that will enhance the organizations image and position within the marketplace and the general public.

• Advance the St. Augustine Health Ministries brand identity throughout our programs/services and enhance the visibility of the work of St. Augustine Health Ministries

  • Facilitate designing, writing and editing of internal and external communications including marketing, public relations and fundraising activities, ensuring consistent communication of image and message.

• Write and distribute online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action; ensuring new links, impact stories, and events are posted regularly and support company’s inbound and outbound digital marketing efforts.

  • Accountable for the design, production, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic collateral including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, annual reports, press releases, website (WordPress), social media, advertising campaigns, invitations, programs and signage.
  • Work as an integral team member in the coordination of special marketing events
  • Assists with marketing or companywide events
  • Supports St. Augustine’s marketing team research needs
  • Support the broad base of collateral needs of the various programs and services of St. Augustine Health Ministries, by developing materials that enhance the program profile as well as the St. Augustine Health Ministries brand and mission identity.
  • Cultivate engaging, meaningful, mission-oriented content that effectively communicates the value and impact of St. Augustine Health Ministries programs and services.
  • Facilitate the ongoing publication of news content and stories that showcase our culture, mission, successes, and expertise.
  • Makes recommendations to the director as to how St. Augustine Health Ministries can improve staff and resident relations and how it can improve and strengthen its image in the healthcare field.
  • Work with the leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communication opportunities and solutions. Define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Assist in writing public relations materials, collateral, and print audio and video advertisements.
  • Assist in planning and implementing effective fundraising events and appeals.
  • Effectively convey the moral and ethical values of a faith-based organization throughout the communication strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field is required

3+ years of experience in nonprofit communications and marketing or health care

Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.

Excellent creative writing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills

Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, time management

Proficient in data base management, MS Office, Constant Contact or similar.

Proficient in design skills using Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.

Proficient in content and digital marketing

Experience working with WordPress (preferred).

Goal orientation with a high level of energy, enthusiasm and dedication to the mission and goals of St. Augustine Health Ministries.

Ability to lead and manage multiple projects at a time and meet deadlines

Ability to effectively plan, focus, and execute to bring improvement to current ways of doing business and motivate colleagues, volunteers, partners and donors.

Proven success in working with diverse populations

Maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct and practice in day to day interaction

Requires some evening and weekend availability
