Who We Serve
Built On a Mission of Service
During its first decade St. Augustine provided skilled nursing care, primarily to older adults. Today, St. Augustine Health Ministries, the anchor of the Detroit Shoreway community, serves over 1000 individuals each day through a continuum of health care and community services and employs over 500. Since its inception, St. Augustine has served individuals based on their needs, not their religion or financial status. As a non-profit, Catholic ministry, St. Augustine has built a reputation of providing high quality, compassionate care; a reputation which remains today.
To continue the healing ministry of Christ by promoting the quality of life and independence of each person entrusted to our care.
Promoting the sacredness of life in a community that celebrates purpose, individuality, companionship and well-being.
Philosophy of Care
Throughout St. Augustine Health Ministries, we provide the highest-quality compassionate care every day. Our approach to wellness takes into account the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each person we serve.
