Busch Funeral and Crematory Services recognizes Holy Family Hospice Bereavement Coordinator, Erin Hout, with Caregiver Award
Mark Busch and Cathy Nichols made a surprise visit to Holy Family Hospice last week to present Erin Hout with balloons, a gift card and plaque as part of the Busch Caregiver Award.
Nominated by Lorene Mihalko, she wrote: ” I first met Erin at Cornerstone of Hope when I joined the ranks of their grief group facilitators. I had the distinct honor of facilitating groups with her. Erin conveyed a deep understanding of grief, incredible group facilitation skills and a genuine gift in her ability to bring comfort to those who are grieving. She also brought those skills to bear at her home Parish, St. Angela Merici, where she provided training, assistance and support as they began their Bereavement Ministry in partnership with Messiah Lutheran Church.
More recently I have had the opportunity to observe Erin in her workplace, St. Augustine Health Ministries‘ Holy Family Hospice, where she is a bereavement counselor. Erin’s knowledge and deep understanding of grief, her incredible counseling skills, tireless efforts in providing grief education and most especially, her dedication in assisting people in the midst of grieving, are apparent in everything she does–her work, her community outreach and each and every encounter she has with those who are grieving. I can think of no one more deserving of the Busch Caregiver Award.”
Thank you to Busch Funeral and Crematory Services for recognizing and appreciating the hard work of individuals in our community that have taken on the responsibility of being a caregiver. It is their way of thanking those who provide hope and comfort for those in need.
