Alleluia He is risen! He is truly risen!

Sr. CeAnn has been sharing weekly prayers with our staff during these last couple of weeks. The following is her prayer for this Holy Week.

Alleluia He is risen! He is truly risen!

This Easter, may our Risen Lord and Savior touch our hearts and heal our lives so we can sing joyfully, “ALLELUIA.”

As we walk together with faith in this Holy Week in which Jesus suffered, died and rose again, let us remember and give joyful thanks in knowing we are a people forgiven, healed and renewed by Jesus’s body and blood and we are called to share that good news with the whole world.

Yes you and I are Easter People not only on Easter, but every day.

Why? Because hope abounds.

It is not a hope based on superficial optimism that is blind to the reality of suffering that is all around us, especially with this pandemic crisis. Rather, it is a deep trust in God and His love for each one of us. This is a season, a time, not for despair, or worry or fear. Easter calls us to embrace the freedom from fear, and to hold onto life and love, and the peace and the joy that Jesus died to give to all of us.

As an Easter People, our response to the gift of forgiveness and eternal life compels us to try to live lives that reflect our new status as sons and daughters of Christ.

What did Jesus give us that first Easter? Jesus gave all of us the reason to shout, “ALLELUIA, HE IS RISEN, HE IS TRULY RISEN.”

A reason for us to have hope always.

The Great Saint John Paull II stated, “Do not abandon yourselves to despair, we are Easter People and Alleluia is our song.”
